Common Questions

What is DOT compliance?+
DOT compliance means following all federal regulations required to legally operate a commercial truck. This includes driver qualifications, Hours of Service rules, vehicle maintenance, drug testing, and various filings with FMCSA. Missing any of these can result in fines starting at $1,584/day.
What's included in the $99/month package?+
Everything: quarterly IFTA filing, DOT compliance monitoring, CSA score tracking and alerts, drug & alcohol testing coordination through our consortium partner, HOS violation monitoring, and annual audit preparation. No hidden fees.
Do I still need to join a drug testing consortium?+
Yes โ€” DOT requires owner-operators to be in a random testing pool. But we handle the enrollment and coordination for you through our consortium partner. The consortium fee ($45-80/year) is separate from the $99/month package.
What happens if I get a DOT audit?+
We've already been preparing for it. Your compliance file will be organized with all required documents: Driver Qualification Files, HOS records, maintenance logs, drug testing documentation, insurance proof, and company policies. We'll walk you through the process.
What are CSA scores and why should I care?+
CSA (Compliance, Safety, Accountability) scores measure your safety record across 7 categories. High scores trigger FMCSA investigations and can lead to loss of operating authority. We monitor your scores monthly and help challenge incorrect violations.
What's IFTA and why do I need it?+
IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) requires interstate carriers to report fuel taxes quarterly. You need to track miles driven and fuel purchased in every state. Miss a filing and you face fines plus potential license suspension. We handle the entire filing using your dispatch data.
Can I add the Compliance Package later?+
Yes. You can add it anytime. We recommend it especially for carriers in their first year, when the New Entrant Safety Audit is mandatory.
What fines am I at risk for without compliance monitoring?+
FMCSA fines range from $1,584/day for recordkeeping violations to $19,246 per HOS or drug testing violation. Operating after an Unsatisfactory safety rating can cost $33,252. And failing to update your MCS-150 can deactivate your USDOT number entirely.
Does FF Dispatch charge extra for this beyond $99/month?+
No. The $99/month covers all six compliance services. The only separate costs are government fees (UCR registration at $46/year, Clearinghouse queries at $1.25 each) and the drug testing consortium fee ($45-80/year), which go directly to the government or consortium โ€” not to us.
I'm a new carrier โ€” do I really need this?+
Especially if you're new. FMCSA conducts a mandatory New Entrant Safety Audit within your first 12 months. Failing it means losing your authority. The Compliance Package ensures you're audit-ready from day one.

DON'T WAIT FOR A FINE
