How do I know which package I need?+

It depends on where you are in your journey. If you already have an active MC, LLC, and insurance — you just need the free Get Dispatched option. If you have a business (LLC) but no MC authority yet — go with Standard Launch ($1,500). If you're starting from zero with nothing — Premium Launch ($2,500) handles everything.

What's included in the $300 FMCSA filing fee?+

The $300 is the federal fee FMCSA charges to file for MC authority. It's included in both the Standard and Premium packages — you don't pay it separately. This gets your MC number issued (though it takes 21 days to go active).

Why does it take 4-6 weeks to start hauling?+

FMCSA requires a 21-day public vetting period after you file for MC authority. During those 21 days, we use the time productively — setting up your insurance, drug testing, compliance programs, and preparing everything so you can start hauling the moment your authority goes active.

What kind of rates can I expect?+

Rates depend on your equipment type, lanes, season, and market conditions. Our target averages: Dry Van $2.85/mile, Reefer $3.10/mile, Flatbed $3.25/mile, Box Truck $2.10/mile, Hotshot $2.60/mile. We negotiate every load to get you the best rate possible, but results vary.

Do I need my own truck to get started?+

Yes — FF Dispatch provides the dispatch service, not the truck. You need your own truck (or lease one). If you don't have a truck yet, check out our Lease-On program where you can drive under our authority.

What other costs should I expect beyond the package price?+

The package covers our service fees and most government filings. Additional costs you should plan for: commercial insurance ($12,000-22,000/year for new authority), IRP/apportioned plates ($1,500-2,000), Form 2290 HVUT ($100-550), and FMCSA Clearinghouse queries ($1.25 each). We'll walk you through all of these.

Can I upgrade from Free to Standard or Premium?+

The free tier is for carriers who already have everything set up. If you already have an active MC, you don't need Standard or Premium — just sign up for free. These packages are for carriers who need help getting their authority set up.

What happens after the 30 days of check-in calls?+

After 30 days, we transition to weekly check-ins for months 2-3, then move to regular dispatch support. Your dedicated dispatcher is always available — the daily calls are extra mentoring during your first month of hauling.

Is the Premium Launch worth the extra $1,000?+

Premium makes sense if you need business formation (LLC, EIN, operating agreement, registered agent). If you already have an LLC and EIN, Standard covers everything else. The $1,000 difference covers what would cost $500-1,000+ if you hired a lawyer or service to form your business.
